Single-pane cesium-potassium fire-resistant glass

Category: Fire-resistant glass

Compared to traditional cast-in-place fire-resistant glass, single-pane cesium-potassium fire-resistant glass not only boasts high strength and ease of installation but also stands out for its exceptional weather resistance! While chemical-grouted fire-resistant glass is prone to bubble formation during manufacturing and tends to turn milky white rapidly under UV exposure and flame, losing its essential transparency and making it impossible to monitor fire conditions, single-pane cesium-potassium fire-resistant glass retains its clarity and functionality—showing no visible changes—even when exposed to intense UV light and flames.

Product Details

Single-pane cesium-potassium fire-resistant glass is produced through a special chemical treatment that involves more than 20 hours of ion exchange at high temperatures, replacing the surface metal sodium with potassium and cesium ions. This process creates a low-expansion silicate glass with a thermal expansion coefficient of 1.8 × 10⁻⁶/°F (3.24 × 10⁻⁶/K), giving it exceptional heat resistance. Additionally, after physical treatment, the glass surface develops an exceptionally strong compressive stress, significantly enhancing its impact resistance. When the glass breaks, it shatters into tiny, granular fragments, minimizing the risk of injury to people! Single-pane cesium-potassium fire-resistant glass boasts strength 6 to 12 times greater than ordinary glass—and 1.5 to 3 times stronger than tempered glass!

Compared to traditional cast-in-place fire-resistant glass, single-pane cesium-potassium fire-resistant glass not only boasts high strength and ease of installation but also stands out for its exceptional weather resistance! While chemical-grouted fire-resistant glass is prone to bubble formation during manufacturing and tends to turn milky white rapidly under UV exposure and flame—effectively losing its transparency and compromising its ability to monitor fire conditions—single-pane cesium-potassium fire-resistant glass retains its clarity and functionality intact, showing no visible changes even when exposed to intense UV light and flames.

In addition to the aforementioned fire-resistant performance and high strength, single-pane cesium-potassium fire-rated glass can also be further processed into a variety of products, including laminated safety fire-rated glass, insulated fire-rated glass, bulletproof fire-rated glass, and coated fire-rated glass.
